Lisa Bastoni: Bio

Lisa Bastoni

Lisa Bastoni honed her performing skills in the squares and subways of Boston, and in the sometimes rowdy bars of the suburbs. She got her first guitar from her grandmother at age thirteen, and continues to be inspired by the folk songs she learned as a teenager.

Lisa appeared in the 2002 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist Showcase, and had a song featured on the Best of Boston compilation CD in 2004. Her debut album Your First Sweetheart (March 2004) has been well received by reviewers and community folk radio stations in Boston and elsewhere.

Since 2001, Lisa has been traveling all around the country, performing her music wherever she can: in clubs and coffeehouses for sure, but sometimes still on sidewalks.

In March, 2005, Lisa decided to move to Austin, TX. She recorded her most recent EP Small Time Big Town in March 2006, just before moving back to the Northeast.

When not performing solo, she is one half of the folk/bluegrass duo Gray Sky Girls with fellow singer-songwriter Naomi Sommers. Lisa currently lives outside Boston.
