Lisa Bastoni: Music

Amethysts and Emeralds

(Lisa Bastoni)
She wears amethysts and emeralds
On her fingers
Multicolored jewels on each hand
But she'll have to learn a lesson in survival
And keep her precious crystalled fingers
Off my man

Every time he's near
Her fingers can't resist him
Baubled hands caress his cheek
So warm and fair
And I tolerate
The countless times she's kissed him
Tossing ruby earrings 'neath
Her perfumed hair

Oh she's been my friend
Through many changing seasons
A confidant throughout the passing years
But my fondness for her
Fades for jealous reasons
And she'll soon be drowning
In her lonely tears

Chorus:
So keep your distance, stay away
We don't need your jewels today
You can sparkle all you can
But save your glitter for another man

Though she wears her polished gems
On every finger
I wear a plain gold band upon my hand
There's a chilly warning
In my eye that lingers
I've hung a "please do not touch" sign
On my man

Chorus
