Lisa Bastoni is a visual artist working with watercolor, acrylic, brush pen, crayon, cardboard, felt, and any material she happens to have on hand. Her imagery mirrors the gentle, storytelling nature of her roots/folk influenced music, often highlighting animals, domestic life, nature, and portraits of beauty in the every day. Past works include hundreds of individual panels for hand-painted lyric videos, a series of album cover “covers,” album illustration and design, as well as custom portraits and commissions. Currently, she is working on a daily visual journal using notebook paper, pen, and crayon.
Lisa Bastoni is heavily inspired by the work and lives of her grandparents, Naiad and Walter Einsel, prolific commercial artists and illustrators active from the 1950s-1990s.
Lisa Bastoni has a B.A. in Art History/Studio Art (Skidmore College), and an M.A. in Art Education (Lesley University). She regularly facilitates classes and workshops for artists of all ages.
